Doctor Bożena Janicka was born in Kamienna Góra, Lower Silesia. She graduated from Silesian Medical Academy in Zabrze. She is a first and a second degree specialist in pediatrics and a second degree specialist in family medicine. Furthermore, she graduated from postgraduate studies in Healthcare Management.
Since 1998 she has been a member of The College of Family Physicians in Poland and since 2003 she has become the president of the Greater Poland’s branch of the College.
She was the first president of the Federation of Zielona Góra Agreement (Federacja Porozumienie Zielonogórskie). However, in March 2010, together with approximately 3000 other doctors, she left the federation and became the head of the Healthcare Employers Agreement (Porozumienie Pracodawców Ochrony Zdrowia) – an organization of physicians in the Greater Poland Voivodeship.
Doctor Bożena Janicka has been an active member of the Greater Poland’s Medical Chamber for years and now, for another term of office, she is a Member of the Regional Council of the organization and a Delegate for The General Medical Assembly in Poland.
She has been giving opinions on legal acts for years. Moreover, she actively participates in the work on legislation changes and in the creation of statutes and ordinances - in conversations and negotiations both with the Minister of Health and with the President of the National Health Fund. She has been participating in the Parliamentary Health Committee proceedings over the years. Her focus is on a family medicine and the role of the Primary Health Care, which is the basis and protection for the patient and the healthcare system in Poland.
She has been repeatedly awarded and honorably mentioned. In 2006 doctor Janicka was rewarded with the medal „Doctor for doctors” (“Lekarz Lekarzom”) also known as “Golden Grape Award” (“Złote Winogrono”). Among others, she obtained the honorable decoration for the outstanding merit from the Greater Poland Medical Chamber - „Zasłużony dla WIL” and also the prestigious “For Contribution to Healthcare” (“Za zasługi dla Ochrony Zdrowia”), given by the Health Minister Bartosz Arłukowicz in 2012.
Doctor Bożena Janicka was placed twice in the honorable circle of laureates of the plebiscite "Women of Medicine" ("Kobiety Medycyny") - in 2014 she took the second place and in 2016 - the fifth. She was also awarded the statuette "Man of the Year" ("Człowiek Roku") twice - she was appreciated locally and in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. In 2015 and 2016 she was placed on a high position in the group of 100 most influential people in polish medicine and healthcare system in Poland - "One Hundred" plebiscite (plebiscyt STU).
Since 1987 she has been living and working in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. Since 1999 she has been operating a Non-public Health Care Facility in Kazimierz Biskupi, practicing as a family doctor. Despite numerous activities, Doctor Janicka always finds time for her patients, whom she has known and treated for more than 20 years already!
Doctor Janicka has two children, one of them – her daughter, is also a doctor. Recently she has become a happy grandmother. She loves animals and owns two dogs.
