Marek Sowa – Member of the Parliament of Poland, Marshal of the Małopolska Region from 2010 to 2015, graduate of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. Since October 25, 2015 Member of Parliament of Poland. Member of The Committee of Economy and Development in Parliament of Poland. Involved in the work of the regional self-government since its very beginning. Councilor of the Malopolska Region from 2006 to 2015. Member of the Board of the Malopolska Region during 2006-2010 term of office. From December 2, 2010 to 2015 Marshal of the Malopolska Region responsible, among others, for the region's development strategies, economic development, finances, international cooperation, promotion, the long-term investment plan as well as for the cooperation with NGOs. Member of the EU Committe of the Regions and representative of the Union of the Voivodeships of the Republic of Poland (UVRP) in the Joint Commission of the Government and Local Authorities. Chairman of the UVRP Commission for Public Finance. In 2012 honoured with the Knight’s Cross of the Order of the Rebirth of Poland.
