The 12th European Economic Congress is to be held on 2-4 September, 2020, in the International Congress Centre in Katowice. For the 5th time the event is going to be accompanied by European Tech and Start-up Days.
The character of this year’s Congress will be unique predominantly due to the possibility of meeting and talking after a long break but also because an even larger scale of the event broadcast live on the Internet. The agenda of the event is packed with most important economic subjects of the recent months.
- When we announced the 12th edition of the European Economic Congress in 2019 in Katowice we said that we were going to combine tradition with innovation. No one would have imagined that these words would turn out to be prophetic and how much the reality would change - says Wojciech Kuśpik, president of the PTWP Group and the organiser of the European Economic Congress in Katowice and Tech and Start-up Days.
- In May this year we launched the first Internet debates of EEC Online; by September we will have held a few dozen of such meetings. Finally, on 2-4 September we would like to invite you to the International Congress Centre in Katowice where the 12th edition of the European Economic Congress and the 5th edition of European Tech and Start-up Days will take place. The rules on the protection of health and safety will be strictly followed. All debates, sessions and galas will be broadcast online in real time - adds Kuśpik.
The 12th European Economic Congress in Katowice will revolve around the following subjects: Europe of the Future, European Green Deal, tackling the recession, energy transition and the economy of the digital era. The three days of debates in September will be grouped in thematic blocks such as: digitalisation, new technologies, energy and climate, development and environment, international economic cooperation, transport and mobility, industry, city, metropolis, region, real estate market, education and the labour market, investments, management, the food industry, market and marketing, finances, society, economy, health care. There will also be sessions organized as part of the European Tech and Start-up Days.
- This year we have been practically incessantly developing the agenda of the event. Essential subjects were included in the programme of a few dozen of debates held during EEC Online, while the agenda of the September conference will include 60 other subjects and discussions – announces Wojciech Kuśpik, president of the PTWP Group. – Some of the speakers will appear in the International Congress Centre in Katowice and others will join us online. For years the European Economic Congress has been bringing together people and communities interested in economic and technological development. For the 5th time the event is going to be accompanied by European Start-up Days, which - according to participants - is the most effective platform where new, creative businesses interact with their well-established and prosperous counterparts interested in the latest technological advancements.
The programme of the 12th European Economic Congress in Katowice will also include award galas of two competitions: Investor without borders and Start-up Challenge.
May and June saw debates organized as part of EEC Online which served as a response to the economic turmoil brought about by COVID-19 pandemic. Over a hundred of businessmen, politicians and representatives of the local government, researchers and academics participated in the event. There were speeches, presentations, one-on-one discussions, comments as well as Q&As. Over 5,000 people registered to participate. All debates of EEC Online were played as many as 2.3 m times.
