Mariusz Jerzy Golecki

Dr hab. prof. UŁ Mariusz Jerzy Golecki was appointed as the Financial Ombudsman on October 12, 2019.

Professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Łódź. In 2016-2020 Chairman of the Council for Counteracting Tax Avoidance at the Minister of Finance. In 2017-2021 Chairman of the Main Adjudication Committee in cases of Violation of Public Finance Discipline. In 2016–2017 Director of the Legal Department at the Ministry of Finance and the director of the Department of International and European Law at the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Poland.
A graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw (1998) and the University of Cambridge, UK (Trinity College 2002). From the beginning of his scientific work, the subject of his research were capital market regulations, in particular derivatives. The author of nearly 80 international publications on the economic analysis of law and capital market regulation. Since 2001, he has been carrying out research in cooperation with leading research centers in Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Italy and Hungary.
