EEC Trends 2026: Poland and Europe amid new geopolitical challenges. A prologue to the European Economic Congress will be written in February 2026, in Warsaw.
PTWP - 20-11-2025
Poland and Europe are facing numerous strategic challenges in the field of security, independence, defence, and competitiveness. The problems they need to solve involve key sectors of their economy – power, defence, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and industry. In order to achieve that, they need to promote a culture of constant cooperation between business, public administration, and decision-makers. With geopolitical instability in the background, it is critical to engage in dialogue about delivering stable growth based on long-term, strategic public investments. Once again, EEC Trends will provide a platform for this much-needed dialogue. Its participants will also discuss the significance of Poland’s admission to G20 and the opportunity it brings for the country's economy. The event, providing a prologue to the European Economic Congress – Central Europe's major business event – takes place on 9th February, 2026, at the Sheraton Grand Warsaw hotel. The 18th edition of the event will be held on 22-24 April, 2026, in the International Congress Centre in Katowice.
Every year, representatives of the government and local government, business, science, and the media, meet in the heart of Silesia to discuss critical social and economic subjects – from global geopolitical challenges, to the direction of the energy, digital and industrial transition. The agenda of EEC Trends includes twelve sessions – each devoted to a separate subject – the conclusions of which will determine the course of a three days long debate held at the next edition of the European Economic Congress in Katowice.
“EEC Trends is a key moment in our preparation for the European Economic Congress – it is a stage where we diagnose and contemplate the reality, setting the tone for our discussions on the subject of economy throughout the year,” says Wojciech Kuśpik, the president of the PTWP Group, the initiator and organiser of the European Economic Congress.
“It is also a space where the community of the EEC asks the most important questions about the future, revolving around matters like the security, resilience, and competitiveness of the Polish and European economy,” he continues.
This year’s edition will be an attempt to look holistically at processes that define the position of an economy in the changing world of today. The discussion will touch upon a wide spectrum of subjects – from global shifts and the increasing impact of geopolitics on the economic reality, to internal challenges that define the pace of development and the competitiveness of the Polish and European economy.
EEC Talks, an open stage where leaders of opinion, entrepreneurs, economists, politicians and researchers engage in dialogue, is an integral part of the conference. This formula allows us to look at the economy through the lens of experience and decisions that make it. It will include intense 1:1 conversations on most heated subjects, from digital transition, through robotisation and automation, to market protection, deregulation, investments by local government, and international cooperation.
EEC Trends will be accompanied by a seventh edition of the official WNP Awards gala. The prestigious award is presented by editorial staff of WNP to persons, institutions and companies that influence the Polish economy. The statuettes are awarded in recognition of those whose drive, courage, and foresight shape new paths of growth – for industries, sectors, and the economy as a whole.
Traditionally, EEC Trends will bring together leaders of the economic realm, representatives of public administration, investors and analysts that, through discussion, will try to predict the future of the Polish economy in a rapidly changing world. Every year, 1,000 people register for the event.
The agenda of the event will also include a meeting of the Programme Council of the European Economic Congressand the EEC Members community involved in creating the congress.
