Position: Department of Social Applications of New Technologies

He was involved in many activities of Polish Transformation ( active in the  “Solidarity”), from 1989 as a minister  ( labour and social policy in 1991) and advisor ( in government led by Jerzy Buzek: 1997 - 2001), also author of the long-term strategy: POLAND 2030 prepared for the Donald Tusk cabinet in 2009.

The first minister of Digital Affairs in the Central Eastern Europe (2011-2013), author of the unique document “DIGITAL POLAND” for using the EU structural funds (2014-2020) to develop digital economy and society.

As a Member of the European Parliament ( 2014-2019), especially active in LIBE and ITRE Committees. Responsible for many reports: GDPR, 5G Road Map and Gigabit society development, Interoperability issues, European Open Science Cloud, Re-use and Public Information directive, ePrivacy solutions, reports o AI.

Now:

- in cooperation with Martens Centre ( Report: “The Artificial Intelligence and Governance. Going beyond ethics”, Brussels 2021, “The ethical dimension of human-artificial intelligence collaboration”,Brussels, European View I-9, journals.sagepub.com/home/euv),

- Senior Adviser and Senator to the SME Europe in the digital area,

- SWPS University ( University for Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw - Assistant Professor/ Department of New Technologies in Social Applications), 

- In cooperation with European University Cyprus / cybersecurity issue

- Digital Enlightenment Forum, the Board Member, activities on FIRESIDE CHATS (topic: digital rights).
