Position: Ambassador of Austria to Poland
Ambassador Dr. Hannes Schreiber has served as Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Poland since September 2025. He joined the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs in 2000. From 2018 to 2025, he was Deputy Director General for Consular Affairs and Director responsible for visa, migration, asylum, border, residence permits and combating human trafficking. His previous postings include Ankara, Moscow, and Austria’s Permanent Representations to the EU and the OSCE, as well as Head of the Political Section at the EU Delegation in Kyiv.
