Marcin Wiącek
Commissioner for Human Rights
He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw and the Center for American Law Studies. In 2009 he obtained the doctor of law degree of and in 2013 became the habilitated doctor. Since 2019 he is a professor at the University of Warsaw where he is also the Head of the Department of Human Rights.
Marcin Wiącek worked at the Constitutional Tribunal and at the Judicial Decisions Bureau of the Supreme Administrative Court. He was a member of the legislative council under the Prime. He also headed the legislative training program conducted by the Government Legislative Center.
Marcin Wiącek an author of many academic publications on constitutional law, constitutional and administrative judiciary, and the protection of human rights.
He collaborated as an expert with, among others, the Chancellery of the President of Poland, the Bureau of Research of the Chancellery of the Sejm, the Government Legislative Center, the Supreme Audit Office, the National Council of the Judiciary, and several ministries.
