Michał Pierończyk
Mayor of Ruda Śląska
Mayor of Ruda Śląska – a native of Ruda Śląska, Master of Law – graduated from the University of Law and Administration in Warsaw. In 2006–2010, he was a councillor of the Ruda Śląska City Council. He co-founded and participated in the activities of social organisations, including the Agreement for Ruda Śląska and Young Europe.
Since December 2010, he has been Deputy Mayor of Ruda Śląska, responsible, among other things, for investments and obtaining external funding. In 2014–2022, he was the city's representative on the Board of the Central Subregion Association, responsible for obtaining European funds for 81 municipalities and counties in the Silesian Province. From 2015 to 2022, he was a representative of the Silesian Association of Municipalities and Counties in the Infrastructure Team of the Joint Commission of the Government and Local Government at the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. Since September 2022, he has been the Mayor of Ruda Śląska, elected in early elections. In 2024, he was re-elected to the office of mayor.
Privately, he is a husband and father of two children. He is passionate about geography, history and Silesia.
