Head of the Department of Biotechnology and Food Microbiology at the Poznań University of Life Sciences. His research interests include the separation of bioactive substances from plant and animal raw materials, as well as the modelling and design of bioprocesses used in industrial biotechnology and food technology. He also investigates the use of yeast and bacterial cells to synthesise various chemical compounds. He conducts research at laboratory and pilot-plant scales. He manages the pilot plant, which is equipped with a line of bioreactors for culturing microbial cells on a scale of 0.5 to 1500 litres, as well as process equipment for the separation, purification, and preservation of bioproducts.
