For years, examples of best practice and investment success have been awarded as part of the TOP Municipal Investments popularity contest. The aim of the awards is to indicate the pro-development effect the awarded projects have on the economy, the region and its inhabitants. This year, the Consultative Council composed of experienced local authorities, economists, managers, experts and officials will select the awardees from among investments that have been put into operation in the years 2006–2016 and implemented by local authorities (community partnerships or other entities that LGUs exercise actual control over) – however, exclusively in co-operation with private enterprises or as a result of privatisation.
