Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed was appointed the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Mining in December 2015. As the Principal Secretary, He is mandated to oversee a vibrant mining industry in Kenya by delivering a predictable legal framework, transparent processes and to achieve equitable sharing of the country’s mineral benefits between the National Government, County Governments, communities, the people of Kenya and investors alike.

Previously, he was The Principal Secretary, Ministry of East African Affairs, Commerce and Tourism, where he was In-charge of policy formulation in Trade and Tourism.

Dr. Mohamed has been in the Public Service for over twenty-eight years and has vast in knowledge in Public Sector Policy reforms, where he has made tremendous contributions in the Health, Trade and Tourism sectors.

Dr. Mohamed started his career in the Public service a physician. He holds a Masters in Public Health from Boston University and an Executive Masters in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School.
