Mariusz Gąsior

Prof. Mariusz Gąsior, MD, PhD, physician, internist, cardiologist. Academic teacher, chief of 3rd Department of Cardiology in Zabrze, Medical University of Silesia in Katowice. Since the beginning of his career he was working in Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze, where he served for 15 years as a Medical Director (1994-2014). He continues as a practicing Interventional cardiologist. Innovator and propagator of introduction of new technologies in cardio-vascular field. Initiator and co-initiator of large databases and registries of cardio-vascular diseases. Co-founder and director of the largest in Europe Registry of Acute Coronary Syndromes PL-ACS. Recently, he was an initiator of “Health Calculator” development – an innovative IT-statistical tool which is able to predict patient’s outcomes. Repeatedly awarded and distinguished for his clinical, scientific, didactic and organizational work by i.a. Polish Society of Cardiology, Rector of Medical University of Silesia as well as Polish Health Minister.
