Prof. Adam Drobniak, PhD – Dean of the Faculty of Spatial Economy and Regions in Transition at the University of Economics in Katowice. Member of the Scientific Council of Main Mining Institute, and member of Regional Council of Just Transition of Silesia Region. In 2021 he was a director of the Institute of Ecology of Industrial Areas responsible for National Just Transition Plan and consultations of Territorial Just Transition Plans. He moderated over 240 meetings, workshops and conferences with over 2.5k stakeholders of just transition in Polish coal regions. Now, he participates in two Horizon project focused on participation in just transition: HORIZON-DUST: Democratising jUst Sustainability Transitions (Lead Parnter: Technical University in Delft): https://www.dustproject.eu/ and HORIZON-BOLSTER: Bridging Organizations and marginalized communities for Local Sustainability Transitions in EuRope (Lead Partner: Tilburg University): https://bolster-horizon.eu/. Author and co-author of over 160 papers, chapters, and over 100 works for practice including new Strategy of Katowice Development . Winner of the Silesian Science Award (2021).
