One of Poland’s most distinguished ophthalmologists, a renowned surgeon, scientist, and academic leader. He serves as Vice-Rector for Development and Technology Transfer at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, and heads the Department and Clinical Unit of Ophthalmology as well as the Ophthalmology Ward at the Railway Hospital in Katowice. For many years, he has been at the forefront of modern ophthalmology, combining clinical excellence with scientific achievement, innovation, and international collaboration. He is a pioneer in advanced corneal surgery, laser therapies, and the application of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Author of an extensive body of scientific work, numerous publications, monographs, and high-impact implementation projects, he collaborates with leading research and clinical centers in Europe, the United States, and China. A member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, he is among the experts building bridges between medicine, science, technology, and economic development.
