Søren Juel Hansen is head of development and responsible for new gas business development and public affairs activities. At the Danish system operator Energinet.dk, Søren has been responsible for maturing the EU-recovery programme funded investments towards Germany, the Danish electricity and gas preparedness-setup and the netcode for the 2004 liberalisation of the Danish gas market. Søren holds a 1996 master in business economy and law and was in-house contract lawyer with Alcatel and Tellabs before joining the gas sector. Current focus is on positioning gas in a future more renewable energy mix, a Polish-Danish Baltic Pipe with a Norwegian tie-in and on optimising the up- mid- and downstream oil-gas value chain in Denmark.
