Gintarė Krušnienė

Ms. Gintarė Krušnienė  is  Deputy Minister of Environment since 2020 December. She has worked before as Advisor to the Minister of Energy (2019-2020) and Advisor to the Minister of Environment (2017-2019). Before working for the Government Ms. G. Krušnienė was  actively involved and working with NGO as an expert on Climate Change and Sustainable Business.

In the Ministry of Environment she is coordinating issues related to the national climate change policy, hydrometeorology, EU and

international environmental policy.

Responsible  for:

- Development and implementation of  a National Climate Change Management Strategy, which was adopted in June 2021 and sets short-term (until 2030), medium-term (until 2040) and long-term (until 2050) goals relating to climate change mitigation as well as targets for individual sectors, which use fossil fuels, pollute the atmosphere with CO2 emissions and have the biggest impact on climate change. The main goals include an 85-percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 and a 100-percent reduction by 2050, compared to 1990.

- Revision of Lithuania’s National Energy and Climate Action Plan.
