For many years, the European Economic Congress has successfully organised activities for pupils, students and young graduates. In 2022, after a break caused by the pandemic, and acting in cooperation with the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE), we are back to inaugurate the European Forum of Young Leaders, which will accompany the European Economic Congress for the first time.
The idea behind the Forum is to provide a space for enterprising young activists from the European Union, the Western Balkans, the countries of the Eastern Partnership, and Poland to share their experiences, engage in networking, and discuss issues of importance to young people across Europe. The Forum, which is planned for three days, will be attended by young activists from all over Europe as well as students from regional universities and entrepreneurs – participants of the Congress. The meetings will take place at the ICC and the University of Silesia in Katowice.
Russia’s aggression against Ukraine poses completely new challenges for Europe, the consequences of which we are not able to fully predict. Therefore, the context of all plena and workshops to be held this year will be war and the possibilities of supporting Ukrainian society. Our aim is also for the largest possible group of young leaders from Ukraine to participate in the Forum, in order to talk together about mobilising civil societies to counter the threats coming from Russia.
As part of the Forum, the young participants will be able to meet business representatives and opinion leaders present at the Congress, while the guests of the Congress will be invited to participate in the activities of the European Forum of Young Leaders. The themes of the meetings are in line with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the EU Youth Strategy 2019–2027.
The organisers of the European Forum of Young Leaders are: Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE) and the PTWP SA Group – the organiser of the European Economic Congress.
