Thematic scope

Competencies, science, and labour resources in a region steeped in industrial traditions, which is now being confronted with the challenges of transition. Silesia and other post-mining regions of Western Europe – common experiences, different stages. How to communicate change, make others believe in it and involve them in its implementation? Using the cultural capital – work ethics, high technical culture, and models of co-operation and social solidarity. Young people distrustful of uncontrolled development: Is it a barrier or an asset in transition processes?
