Adam Hirny graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics in Poland, where he received Master Degree in Finance and Banking and from the Warsaw University of Technology Business School where he completed post-graduate studies in the field of renewables in business.
Adam Hirny began his career in Citibank Poland, where he was responsible for implementation of innovations and further for development of loan products for micro companies.
In January 2009 he joined Fortis Bank Polska SA (later BNP Paribas Bank Polska SA), where he was responsible for development of financial products for SME clients in cooperation with supranationals and domestic development banks. He was responsible for launching and managing at BNP Paribas many sustainable development facilities for SMEs such as PolSEFF, Green Initiative or Loan for Technology Innovations. In 2013 he became a member of the innovation center responsible for identification and implementation of the innovative initiatives in the bank. In July 2018 he was appointed the Director of the Financial Institutions and Sustainable Development Programmes Bureau that was in charge of creation and further development of sustainable facilities, green financing and cooperation with domestic and international institutions. In October 2020 Adam joined the Sustainability Council at BNP Paribas Bank Polska SA which aggregates different climate-related actions. Currently, Adam is the Head of the Sustainable Business Development Department which among others is in charge of assuring internal technical energy expertizes but also covers the development of financial mechanism with respect to energy transition.
