A leading executive with extensive background and knowledge of the Polish energy market, Miroslaw Kowalik became president of Westinghouse Poland in May 2021. In this role, Mr. Kowalik leads the company’s plans to invest in nuclear technologies in Poland, including providing the world’s leading and safest AP1000® technology to the country’s nuclear power program.
Mr. Kowalik brings more than 25 years of experience in the energy sector, with expertise in business leadership, strategy, new project acquisitions and business development gained while in senior leadership positions at companies including SNC Lavalin, Alstom and ABB. Most recently, Mr. Kowalik served as president of Enea, one of the largest energy companies in Poland.
Based in Westinghouse’s Warsaw office, Mr. Kowalik will also serve as president of Westinghouse Electric Poland sp.z o.o., overseeing various Westinghouse activities in Poland in addition to Westinghouse’s nuclear new-build efforts.
Miroslaw Kowalik is a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Gynia Maritime University. He received his MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management in cooperation with the University of Gdańsk and the Gdańsk Foundation for Management Development and also completed post-graduate studies in corporate finance management at the Warsaw School of Economics.
