Ludwik Kotecki is a member of the Monetary Policy Council in the term 2022-2028. He was an economic advisor to the Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Poland in 2019-2021. In the period 2017-2021 he was an economic and financial consultant and advisor to some international organizations, including the UNDP, the IBRD and the IMF. In recent years a green finance propagator and advisor, Director of Responsible Finance Institute (2019-2022), an expert for the Center for Strategic Mindset and the European Financial Congress. Member of Team Europe in Poland. Chief Economist of Caritas Poland. In 2015-2016 he served as Alternate Executive Director in the IMF in Washington DC, representing Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Poland, Serbia, Switzerland, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan at the IMF Board. Before that he spent almost twenty years in Polish Ministry of Finance, most recently as Chief Economist (2012-2015) and Deputy Minister (2008-2012). In 2012 – 2015 Member of Polish Financial Supervision Authority and Chairman of the Council of the Deposit Guarantee Fund. In the years 2009-2012, the Government Plenipotentiary for the Euro Introduction in Poland.
