H.E. Dr. Ali Makki, boasting over 23 years of distinguished experience, is a results-driven professional with a robust skill set in communication, management, trade, and strategic relations. His expertise encompasses competency development, talent management, knowledge management, training, organizational assessment, and corporate strategy. Throughout his career, His Excellency has demonstrated a proven track record in establishing new projects and divisions while aligning strategies with process mapping.
As the Executive Director of the Logistics and Trade Facilitation Sector at the Department of Economic Development (DED), H.E. has played a pivotal role in positively transforming Abu Dhabi’s trade facilitation landscape. Through the development and implementation of innovative strategies, policies, and digital solutions across various platforms, he has been instrumental in enhancing efficiency and promoting growth.
His notable achievements include the development of the Abu Dhabi Trade Facilitation Roadmap and Export Strategy, as well as active involvement in UAE free trade agreements, including CEBA. During his 12-year tenure at the Department of Transport, His Excellency pioneered the Bus Office Project and spearheaded stakeholder relationship development, school transport initiatives, and the Student Safety Strategy System.
Additionally, as a key team member at the Free Zone Authority/Saadiyat Global Financial Project since 1997, H.E. has been instrumental in marketing, public relations, and securing private subscriptions.
H.E. strategic initiatives focus on the removal of trade barriers, streamlining and digitizing all Trade Facilitation processes through the development and operation of the Advanced Trade & Logistics Platform single window. He aims to improve Abu Dhabi’s overall competitiveness in Trade Facilitation, enhance transparency, reduce time and costs, and enable Abu Dhabi companies to access global markets while attracting investments with high potential export value to the emirate.
