- In the years 2018-2022 Vice-President of the Polish Academic and Economic Forum,

- Since 2020 Member of the Silesian Forum of Experts,

- Since 2021, Member of the Academy of Engineering in Poland,

- Since 2020, Chairman of the Committee on Machine Building of the Polish Academy of Sciences,

- Member of the Polish Society of Computer Methods in Mechanics since 1993,

- In the period 2011-2015, Chairman of the Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics

 - Member of the Steering Committee of EuroScience Open Forum 2024,

- Doctor Honoris Causa of Lviv University of Technology and Gheorghe Asachi Technical University,

- Awarded the Silver Cross of Merit and the Gold Medal and the Bronze Medal of the Minister of National Defence for services to the country's defence,

- The winner of the Gold Medal of Honor "For Merit for the Silesian Voivodeship",

- The winner of "Gliwicjusz" and "Zabrze Athena",
