Marek Wójcik

Voivode of Silesia

Marek Wójcik, Voivode of Silesia, government representative in the Silesian Voivodeship.

Polish lawyer, graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia in Katowice.

He completed postgraduate studies Master of Business Administration at the WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza.

In the years 2020-2023, he was an advisor to the Speaker of the Senate and cooperated with the WSB Academy, conducting exercises and lectures in the field of National Security.

In the years 2005-2019 was a MP - member of the Sejm chamber.

He is a co-author of the Metropolitan Act passed in 2015.

He was the chairman of the Parliamentary Home Affairs Committee dealing with security and uniformed services of the Republic of Poland.

For two terms he was vice-chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Administration and Internal Affairs.

He worked, among others, in the Commission of Inquiry to investigate the circumstances of the tragic death of former MP Barbara Blida.

He gained local government experience as a Councilman of the Katowice City Council, Councilman and Vice-Chairman of the Dąb District Management Board, as well as a member of the supervisory board of a municipal company.
