Position: Vice-Rector for Student Affairs

Rafał Dańko – professor, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of the AGH University. He conducts scientific work in the field of materials engineering and specialises in the theory, design, and measurement of foundry machines in manufacturing machine components with casting and incremental methods. An important element of the Professor's scientific activity is the work related to the impact of foundry technology on the environment and recycling of materials. He is an author and co-author of more than 350 scientific papers, research reports, including eight monographs and 10 patents.

Since the beginning of his academic career, he has been associated with the Faculty of Foundry Engineering, where he has been the Head of the Foundry Machinery and Casting Construction Laboratory since 2010. He was the Dean of the Faculty from 2016 to 2020. He is the President of the Technical Association of Polish Foundrymen and a Vice President of the World Foundry Organisation. He actively cooperates with national and international research entities. He is a chairman of the Scientific Council of the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals. In his educational activity, he attaches great importance to introducing students to innovative technologies, creativity, and independence of action.
